Partner Engineering & Science, Inc. is hiring an Energy Engineer II in Newark, NJ. You will perform energy audits, whole-building energy modeling, and commissioning support as part of our Energy & Sustainability team. The role involves advancing to lead technical work and coordinating small projects.

The ideal candidate has a solid foundation in building systems and energy analysis, with opportunities to deepen technical and project leadership responsibilities in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 3+ years of relevant experience or Master’s degree with 1+ year of related experience.
• Experience using energy modeling tools such as eQuest, EnergyPro, TRACE, and/or EnergyPlus.
• Experience with energy analyses of building systems including HVAC, lighting, controls, and related components.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and project coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct ASHRAE Level I, II, and III energy audits with senior staff support.
• Perform whole-building energy modeling using industry-standard tools.
• Conduct field inspections and evaluate building systems for energy-saving opportunities.
• Prepare technical reports, recommendations, and client-ready deliverables.
• Manage small projects or defined workstreams, including schedule and budget tracking.
• Communicate with clients and internal teams regarding project status and questions.
