Job summary

Energy Infrastructure Partners LLC is seeking a FA Engineer II in Chicago to support engineering assessments and project development for ComEd facilities work. You will examine building performance, identify energy efficiency opportunities, and develop defensible savings estimates with clear technical recommendations for customers and teams.

The role emphasizes site assessments, data analysis, and collaborative project development within a Chicago-based hybrid setting, requiring strong Excel,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or closely related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • At least five years of relevant building energy assessments or energy engineering experience.
  • Working knowledge of commercial and institutional HVAC, controls, lighting, and other major energy-using systems.
  • Ability to develop and review transparent engineering calculations using program methods.
  • Strong Excel skills and ability to analyze utility data and technical documents.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct site assessments; document equipment and operations; inspect major energy-using systems.
  • Review utility bills, interval data, equipment inventories, drawings, and controls trends; identify data gaps.
  • Identify improvement opportunities across HVAC, building controls, lighting, and related systems.
  • Calculate energy savings using prescriptive and custom methods; consider incentives and payback.
  • Prepare concise assessment reports with savings methods, costs, and implementation considerations.
  • Review calculations and source data; ensure accuracy before submission.
  • Support customers, contractors, and program staff; refine scopes and document deliverables.
  • Verify installed conditions and update savings estimates during follow-ups.
  • Maintain organized calculation files and project records; track schedules and risks.
  • Share learning to improve assessment methods and tools.
