Job summary

Energy Infrastructure Partners LLC in Chicago seeks a FA Engineer II to support engineering assessments and project development for ComEd facilities work. The engineer will examine building and equipment performance, identify practical energy efficiency opportunities, develop defensible savings estimates, and prepare clear technical recommendations for customers and program teams.

This role combines on-site assessment with analysis and follow-through.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical experience in a relevant engineering field.
• At least five years of building energy assessments or related facility engineering work.
• Knowledge of HVAC, controls, lighting, and energy-using systems.
• Ability to develop transparent engineering calculations and apply program methods.
• Strong data collection, site analysis, and safe field practices.
• Excellent written communication and ability to explain findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct site assessments, documenting equipment and operations.
• Review utility data, interval data, drawings, and maintenance records.
• Identify energy and demand reduction opportunities in HVAC, lighting, and building systems.
• Prepare prescriptive and custom savings calculations using program methods.
• Evaluate economics, incentives, and project costs for recommended measures.
• Prepare concise assessment deliverables with supporting documentation.
• Review calculations and data for accuracy before submission.
• Discuss findings with customers and contractors to refine scopes.
• Verify installed conditions and update savings estimates as needed.
• Maintain organized calculation files and project records.
