Job summary

Energy Infrastructure Partners LLC is seeking a FA Engineer II in Chicago to support engineering assessments and project development for ComEd facilities work. You will collect facility and utility data, evaluate systems, and prepare engineering recommendations.

The role combines on-site assessments with data analysis and follow-through, requiring five years of building energy experience, strong Excel and writing skills, and the ability to communicate findings clearly to customers and program

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent relevant technical experience.
  • At least five years of building energy assessments or related facility engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, controls, lighting, and major energy-using systems.
  • Ability to develop transparent engineering calculations and apply program methods.
  • Strong Excel skills and ability to interpret utility data and documents.
  • Clear technical writing and ability to explain findings to diverse audiences.
  • Willingness to travel to Chicago-area facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct site assessments to identify actionable energy opportunities.
  • Analyze facility data, review bills, and validate key assumptions.
  • Evaluate HVAC, lighting, controls, and building envelope for improvements.
  • Prepare energy savings calculations using program methods and assumptions.
  • Estimate economics, incentives, and project costs; document results clearly.
  • Prepare concise assessment deliverables and technical summaries.
  • Review calculations and data for accuracy before submission.
  • Support customers and contractors to refine scopes and enable implementation.
  • Verify installed conditions and update savings estimates as needed.
  • Maintain organized files and track project progress.
