Job summary

RLM Engineering PLLC seeks an Energy Engineer to lead energy audits, modeling, and compliance projects in New York. The role involves independent project management, coordinating with clients and contractors, and delivering detailed energy reports.

The ideal candidate will have experience in energy efficiency projects, commissioning, and building energy regulations, with opportunities to own projects and grow within the firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Energy Engineering or related field.
• Experience performing energy audits, assessments, commissioning, or related services.
• Working knowledge of commercial building HVAC systems and energy consumption.
• Ability to perform engineering calculations and prepare detailed reports.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with other disciplines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to conduct site visits across New York City and Long Island.
• Proficiency with Excel.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive energy audits and assessments of buildings.
• Conduct surveys, inspections, and field investigations of energy systems.
• Prepare energy audit reports with CM measures, savings, costs, and payback.
• Perform building commissioning and retro-commissioning.
• Model and analyze building energy performance and improvements.
• Assist with NYC Local Law 87/97 compliance.
• Evaluate HVAC, controls, and lighting for energy efficiency.
• Prepare calculations, reports, specifications, and recommendations.
• Coordinate with clients, owners, managers, and contractors.
• Manage project schedules and deadlines.
