Job summary

Big-D Mission Critical is seeking an Electrical Superintendent to oversee energy isolation and energization activities on data center projects. The role includes planning, coordination, control, and documentation of energized work, with emphasis on safety and compliance.

The position can be based in Salt Lake City, UT or in a traveling role, with benefits including comprehensive healthcare, HSA contributions, PTO, 401(k) with match, and company vehicle support.

Qualifications

• 8+ years working with live electrical systems.
• Experience authorizing or supervising energized work.
• Medium-voltage systems experience.
• Substation systems experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Authorizes and supervises energized work execution.
• Maintains detailed switching logs and isolation tracking.
• Lead energization sequencing, generator startup, UPS transitions, and system commissioning.
• Coordinate with utility providers and owner operations teams.
• Review and approve MOPs and Energized Work Permits.
• Support energization boundary validation with the Commissioning Authority.
• Ensure proper labeling and arc flash studies are in place prior to energization.
• Track real-time status of energized systems and report to leadership.
