Job summary

MD Energy Advisors is seeking an Energy Portfolio Manager to expand our Commercial Solutions division. This hybrid role emphasizes identifying, cultivating, and closing energy efficiency opportunities nationwide, with a focus on DERs, LED retrofits, and energy procurement strategies.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in energy efficiency sales, strong communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to manage complex client relationships with utilities, ESCOs, and technology partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, economics, engineering, or equivalent related work experience.
• At least 10 years in business development or sales within energy efficiency or related industry.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop strategic solutions.
• Self-motivated, results-oriented, able to work independently and in a team.
• Knowledge of energy efficiency technologies, incentives, and regulatory frameworks.
• Emotional intelligence for building trusted advisor relationships.

Responsibilities

• Identify, develop, and sell energy efficiency solutions that reduce energy use and costs.
• Develop financial analyses, ROI models, and business cases for energy investments.
• Lead and manage projects with utilities, ESCOs, contractors, and tech providers.
• Educate clients on incentives, rebates, and credit offerings; manage applications.
• Build and maintain a robust pipeline; close new business and expand accounts.
