Job summary

Southern Company seeks a data-driven analyst to support DSM program design, evaluation, and regulatory compliance across GA, AL, and MS. You will partner with internal teams and vendors to deliver timely data and insights for IRP and PSC requirements.

The role may lead a team of analysts, and involves cost-benefit analyses of DER use cases, and staying informed on industry developments in mass-market dispatchable DER/DR offerings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field; master's preferred.
• 2+ years in energy efficiency, DSM, utility ops, or regulatory affairs.
• Experience with regulatory filings and data requests is ideal.
• Strong MS Office skills required.
• Up to 25% travel, in-state and nationwide.
• Experience with program evaluation, EM&V, or performance analytics preferred.
• Knowledge of DERs, DR, electrification, or emerging energy tech preferred.
• Experience managing projects, contracts, or cross-functional initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support evaluation efforts for certified DSM programs, focusing on GPC.
• Review EM&V reports and assist in training sessions and readouts.
• Support IRP, DSM filing design, witness prep, and data requests.
• Lead RFP efforts related to IRP orders for DSM programs.
• Coordinate system-wide contracting across vendors for efficiency.
• Support DSM filings and evaluations for GPC, APC and MPC.
• Manage team budgets, expenses, and contracts.
• Review external DSM reporting from system stakeholders for consistency.
• Gather and present DSM performance data at the system level.
