Job summary

Appalachian Power Company is seeking an entry-level EE & Consumer Programs Coordinator to support the evaluation of resource applications submitted by third-party contractors. The role involves coordinating with planning and business unit functions, assisting with data collection and program evaluation, and supporting operating company programs as appropriate.

You will work with internal teams and external partners to ensure adherence to program guidelines, assist with M&V activities, and help

Qualifications

  • Entry level position; no experience required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in energy efficiency programs, consumer programs, training, sales, outreach, customer engagement, or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and evaluate submits detailed RFI/RFQ/RFP documents to prospective third-party contractors.
  • Support program promotion strategies, trade ally engagement activities, data collection procedures/forms, M&V requirements, cost tracking procedures, and internal/external training guidelines.
  • Ensure programs are implemented to meet EE & Consumer Programs goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with AEP staff, legal, regulatory, IRP, pricing and analysis, and public policy to align strategies.
  • Assist with technical and financial evaluation of EE & Consumer Programs proposals.
  • Review proposals for adherence to program guidelines and recommend implementation strategies.

Job Summary

Under general supervision, supports the evaluation of EE & Consumer Programs resource applications submitted by third-party contractors, coordinates with other planning and business unit functions on issues related to EE & Consumer Programs, provides general support for either operating company programs or system wide programs, as appropriate, and collaborates with other utility personnel. Supports data collection and program evaluation process for operating companies. Assists procurement and legal in securing corporate contractor agreements and general operating T&Cs.



What You’ll Do


  • Assists in developing and evaluating submits detailed RFI/RFQ/RFP documents to prospective third-party contractors.

  • Supports program promotion strategies, trade ally engagement activities, data collection procedures/forms, Measurement and Verification (M&V) requirements, cost tracking procedures, and required internal and external training guidelines.

  • Assists to ensure successful programs are implemented to help achieve the Company's overall EE & Consumer Programs goals and objective.

  • Effectively works with other operating company and AEP staff, legal, operating company regulatory staff, integrated resource planning, regulatory pricing and analysis, and public policy, to ensure understanding of program processes and mutual agreement of overall strategies.

  • Provides assistance with technical and financial evaluation of EE & Consumer Programs proposals.

  • Participates in the review of proposals submitted by third-party contractors to ensure adherence to stated program guidelines, goals, and objectives and makes recommendations to the EE & Consumer Programs Manager as to the most effective program implementation and evaluation strategies.

  • Helps to identify discrepancies with contractor proposals and/or clarification of overall program process, implementation procedures, costs, etc.

  • Assists with the support of M&V activities and assists in program implementation and data collection.

  • Assists in supporting EE & Consumer Programs activities with appropriate other functions within AEP.

  • Develops a comprehensive working knowledge of all aspects of EE & Consumer Programs-related activities in all functional areas and the interrelationships among them.

  • Participates in regular communication with EE & Consumer Programs Manager, AEP, and operating company organizational units to ensure understanding of expected deliverables, timetables, successes, needed process improvement, and overall roles and responsibilities.

  • Distribute feedback from internal and external organizations to appropriate AEP and operating company personnel.

  • Recruit, train, support, and maintain relationships with trade allies participating in the Company’s EE & Consumer Programs.

  • Provide ongoing education, guidance, and program updates to promote successful program participation.

  • Collaborate with industry associations, economic development organizations, chambers of commerce, community organizations, contractors, and other stakeholders to identify and cross-promote opportunities for trade allies and customers participating in the Company’s EE & Consumer Programs.

  • Coordinate and participate in customer outreach activities, trade shows, community events, educational workshops, presentations, and other promotional efforts to increase awareness and participation in the Company’s EE & Consumer Programs.

  • Collaborate with third-party contractors and internal stakeholders to identify customer segments, develop targeting strategies, and support outreach initiatives designed to increase program participation and customer engagement.

Demonstrates high math, science, and engineering competencies. Knowledge of environmental, national energy issues, and ability to share that knowledge with others. Physical demand level is Sedentary; however, regular travel throughout the Company’s service territory is required to support program implementation, outreach, training, and stakeholder engagement activities.

  • EE & Consumer Program Coord - $74,551-$93,189 /year.
