The Weatherization Assessor position in Fort Stockton is responsible for conducting home energy assessments and determining allowable repairs to ensure compliance with program requirements. You will communicate findings to clients and contractors, coordinate with the Weatherization staff, and track progress throughout the weatherization process.

Responsibilities include conducting interviews, safety testing, preparing reports, developing cost estimates, and entering data into NEAT or MHEA.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years building construction or related work experience.
• OSHA card and EPA lead certification required or willing to obtain within 3 months.
• Willingness to pursue BPI Quality Control Inspector (QCI) certification.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
• Pre-employment background check, drug test, and MVR required.
• Must be 21+ with valid Texas Driver's License and reliable vehicle; travel daily within service area.
• Monday–Friday 8:00am–5:00pm; schedule may vary based on needs.

Aufgaben

• Perform home energy assessments for single and multi-family units and identify allowable repairs.
• Interview applicants to collect energy usage, health and safety information.
• Conduct safety testing for combustion appliances and carbon monoxide levels.
• Perform walkthrough assessments and record appliance/HVAC details.
• Use diagnostic tools (blower door tests, duct blaster, infrared) to assess conditions.
• Prepare comprehensive house assessments/reports with recommended measures.
• Develop cost estimates using contractor price lists and enter data into NEAT/MHEA.
• Create work orders and coordinate with contractors; monitor progress.
• Provide customer service and act as liaison between contractors and clients.
• Assist with outreach and training of contractors; ensure TDHCA/DOE compliance.
