Job summary

Community Council of South Central Texas (CCSCT) seeks a Weatherization Assessor to perform home energy assessments and determine allowable repairs while ensuring compliance with property and client eligibility requirements. This role serves as a liaison between contractors and clients and tracks projects through the weatherization process.

You will prepare detailed assessment reports, estimate materials, and input data into NEAT/MHEA, ensuring TDHCA standards and LIHEAP prioritization.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years building construction or related work experience (weatherization, carpentry, contracting, inspection, energy efficiency).
• OSHA card and EPA lead certification or willingness to obtain within 3 months.
• Willingness to obtain BPI Quality Control Inspector (QCI) certification.
• Experience with low-income clients in non-profit or social service org preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
• Pre-employment background check, drug test, and MVR required.
• Must have valid Texas Class C driver's license; travel daily within service area.

Responsibilities

• Conducts home energy assessments for single and multi-family units to determine allowable energy-related repairs and improvements.
• Interviews applicants to gather energy usage, health/safety issues, and comfort concerns.
• Performs testing protocols, including pre-combustion appliance safety testing to ensure safety and proper CO levels.
• Prepares complete house assessments/reports indicating energy efficiency measures, repairs, and safety concerns.
• Develops cost estimates and work orders; inputs data into NEAT or MHEA and LIHEAP priority list.
• Assists contractors with requests, change orders, and ensuring quality and TDHCA compliance.
• Provides customer service, schedules appointments, and educates clients on energy conservation.
