Job summary

Meta's Energy Team seeks a commercially experienced and technically grounded energy professional to lead demand flexibility and grid strategy across our data center portfolio. The role acts as Meta's internal expert on demand response, BYOC, and flexible interconnection, coordinating with energy, engineering, policy, and site teams to embed flexibility in energy service agreements from the outset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a directly related field or equivalent practical experience.
• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, environmental science, or an energy-related discipline.
• 10 years of experience in commercial energy, utility negotiations, or grid operations, with exposure to demand response or capacity market structures.
• Knowledge of demand response programs, BYOC capacity arrangements, and flexible load tariffs in at least one major U.S. market.
• Experience representing business interests to utilities, grid operators, regulatory agencies, and industry groups.
• Understanding of transmission, distribution, and interconnection processes in deregulated markets.
• Ability to lead cross-functional programs with engineering, legal, policy, and commercial teams.
• Ability to clearly communicate regulatory, commercial, and technical details at all levels.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (approx. 25%).

Responsibilities

• Serve as Meta's SME on demand flexibility across markets, drive negotiations with utilities and grid operators.
• Partner with Policy to monitor regulatory landscape affecting demand flexibility.
• Manage commercial relationships with data centers and regulators.
• Negotiate and deliver new commercial agreements enabling capacity and flexible options.
• Collaborate with Site Selection to identify energy-ready locations in the U.S.
• Coordinate with on-site staff, sustainability, legal, finance, and other teams.
