Job summary

Meta is seeking an Energy Manager to lead our demand flexibility and grid strategy across the global data-center portfolio. You will act as the internal commercial and regulatory expert on demand response and BYOC arrangements, coordinating with energy, engineering, policy, and compliance teams.

You will negotiate with utilities, manage cross-functional programs, and stay ahead of evolving market and regulatory trends affecting Meta's energy footprint across markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a directly related field or equivalent practical experience.
• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, environmental science, or energy-related discipline.
• 10 years of experience in commercial energy, utility negotiations, or grid operations with exposure to DR, BYOC, or capacity markets.
• Experience representing business interests to utilities, grid operators, regulatory agencies, and industry groups.
• Knowledge of transmission, distribution, and interconnection processes in regulated and deregulated markets.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally (approximately 25%).

Responsibilities

• Serve as Meta's SME on demand flexibility and flexible interconnection across all markets.
• Drive commercial negotiations with utilities and grid operators and operationalize agreements.
• Partner with Policy team to monitor and respond to regulatory developments.
• Manage relationships with utilities, market participants, regulators, and stakeholders.
• Negotiate terms and provide scenario analyses for capacity options and timelines.
• Develop and deliver new commercial agreements for capacity and fungible options.
• Collaborate with legal to refine arrangements for facilities and energy services.
• Identify new data center locations with energy requirements in the U.S.
• Interface with on-site staff, sustainability, policy, design, construction, finance, and legal teams.
• Support ongoing energy supply strategy and communicate market/regulatory trends.
• Lead or support energy projects and travel as needed (25%).
