Job summary

Great Lakes Community Action Partnership (GLCAP) seeks a Weatherization Supervisor to lead crews in weatherization and residential improvements, coordinating daily activities and ensuring safe, compliant work practices. The role requires guiding staff, conducting diagnostic testing, and maintaining strong client relations.

Responsibilities include implementing energy conservation measures, overseeing equipment, and ensuring projects meet standards and funding requirements.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED and weatherization courses within one year.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in weatherization, residential construction, home repair, or related field.
  • Experience leading, training, or directing the work of others is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead weatherization crews in implementing prioritized energy conservation measures identified in written work orders.
  • Coordinate daily work activities to maximize productivity and ensure timely, budget-compliant project completion.
  • Perform pre- and post-house diagnostic tests including blower door, pan pressure, worst case draft, room-to-room and zone pressure checks.
  • Ensure OSHA compliance and safety, monitor job site safety and verify quality of weatherization installations.
  • Serve as primary on-site contact for homeowners, addressing concerns and maintaining positive relations.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and materials, track usage, and report needs or discrepancies.

Education :

High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and ability to obtain Weatherization Technician and House Diagnostics courses within one year .

Experience:

Minimum of three years of experience in weatherization, residential construction, home repair, or related field. Experience leading, training, or directing the work of others is preferred. Experience with energy conservation measures, diagnostic testing, and safe work practices is highly desirable.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist weatherization crews in the implementation of prioritized energy conservation measures identified in written work orders. Coordinate daily work activities to maximize productivity and ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with program standards, applicable regulations, safety requirements, and prescribed cost estimates.

Perform and oversee repairs related to structures, heat source venting, water heater venting etc.

Perform pre- and post-house diagnostic tests including blower door, pan pressure, worst case draft, room to room and zone pressure members in proper weatherization techniques, safety practices, and program requirements.

Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, agency policies, program procedures, Ohio Standard Work Specifications (SWS), manufacturer specifications, and funding source requirements by monitoring job site safety and verifying the quality and accuracy of all

weatherization installations.

Conduct ongoing quality and safety checks throughout projects to ensure work is completed correctly and efficiently, and immediately report any safety concerns, hazards, or injuries to the Inspector or Energy Production Specialist

Serve as the primary on-site contact for homeowners, explaining work activities, addressing concerns, and maintaining positive customer relations.

Ensure weatherization vehicles, tools, equipment, and materials are properly inspected, maintained, stocked, and available for assigned projects; track material usage and report maintenance needs, shortages, damaged equipment, or inventory discrepancies to appropriate staff.

Communicate with the Inspectors and Energy Production Specialist on production and personnel issues in a timely manner.

Complete required paperwork according to instructions and consistent with departmental and funding source policies. Review and verify crew documentation for accuracy and completeness prior to submission.

Maintain job site cleanliness and ensure proper care, storage, and security of tools, equipment, and materials.

Other duties and responsibilities as directed by supervisor.

Additional Requirements:
  • Initial and periodic Motor Vehicle Records checks, maintain a valid driver's license, and safe driving record.
  • Must have insured, dependable transportation available for daily use.
  • Must submit to initial and/or periodic state and/or federal criminal checks.
  • Must submit to initial and periodic drug and alcohol testing.
  • Ability to be reached by cellular phone during business hours and after hours.
