Job summary

Swiss Re Corporate Solutions is seeking an experienced Operations Leader to guide the Energy & Construction post-underwriting activities. You’ll manage a team of Underwriting Assistants and Operations professionals, delivering timely policy processing, renewals, and invoicing while driving continuous improvement.

You will partner with Underwriters and business leaders to support portfolio growth, optimize workflows, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business experience.
• 5+ years of commercial insurance operations, underwriting support, or underwriting experience.
• Previous team leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Energy, Construction, Specialty, or Commercial Insurance operations strongly preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated success leading change and process improvement initiatives.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and coaching capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Underwriting Assistants and Operations professionals.
• Create a high-performing, collaborative, and customer-focused team culture.
• Conduct performance management, career development, succession planning, and workforce planning activities.
• Drive employee engagement through regular coaching, feedback, and development discussions.
• Ensure appropriate workload balancing and resource allocation across the team.
• Oversee execution of post-underwriting operational activities across Energy & Construction portfolio.
• Ensure timely processing of binders, endorsements, policy issuance, renewals, cancellations, and invoicing.
• Monitor service levels, quality metrics, productivity measures, and KPIs.
• Identify and remove operational bottlenecks while improving end-to-end workflow efficiency.
• Maintain business continuity and address capacity risks.
• Partner with Underwriters and leaders to support portfolio growth and priorities.
• Develop relationships with brokers, underwriting teams, claims, compliance, finance, legal, and tech partners.
• Provide operational insight and recommendations to improve customer and broker experience.
• Support implementation of strategic business initiatives and portfolio growth objectives.
• Ensure compliance with policies, regulatory requirements, and underwriting guidelines.
• Own audit readiness, documentation quality, and control execution.
• Monitor operational risks and drive resolution plans to minimize impact.
• Lead process improvements and technology enablement via AI adoption and workflow modernization.
