Job summary

Altura is seeking an Energy and Commissioning Engineer to lead field energy projects for new construction and existing buildings, including retro-commissioning and M&V. The role emphasizes project management, client interface, data analytics, and SkySpark-driven analysis.

The preferred location is Irvine, CA, with hybrid or remote options in Southern California and the ability to travel to sites as needed.

Qualifications

• 3-10+ years of experience in engineering field (mechanical preferred), including building energy engineering (MEP and controls).
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills in energy and commissioning performance.
• Experience delivering complex, custom project scopes for commercial, healthcare and institutional clients.
• Mentor and coach direct reports to drive high-performance culture.
• Experience linking energy/environment indicators to business financial metrics.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple energy and commissioning projects, including client interface, team coordination, and schedule & budget management.
• Perform field work including site audits, systems testing, and development of energy improvement measures.
• Execute testing protocols to verify energy performance as part of commissioning process.
• Perform technical analysis to support energy savings calculations and M&V.
• Leverage data analytics to support energy engineering and commissioning processes.
• Travel to sites for field work as required.
