Job summary

Ever-Green Energy is seeking an Operations and Maintenance Engineer to manage and optimize district heating and cooling plants at the Hennepin County Energy Center. You will support operations, oversee preventive maintenance, troubleshoot equipment, and ensure safety compliance within a union environment.

The role requires a Minnesota Second Class A/B license (First Class A within 2 years) and hands-on experience with plant equipment, pumps, and steam systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minnesota Second Class A/B Operating Engineer's license; First Class A license within 2 years.
• Experience with plant heating/cooling equipment, steam turbines, pumps, and related systems.
• Ability to interpret schematics and manuals; troubleshoot and analyze data.
• Clear written and spoken communication is essential.

Responsibilities

• Operate heating, cooling, distribution, and related equipment safely and efficiently.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment.
• Inspect plant equipment, piping, and facilities for safety and compliance.
• Lockout/tagout equipment as required for maintenance.
• Test system chemistry and maintain operating logs and records.
• Maintain general housekeeping and support duties as assigned.
