Job summary

Ever-Green Energy is seeking an Operations & Maintenance Engineer at the Hennepin County Energy Center in Minneapolis. You will oversee operation and maintenance of district heating and cooling plants and related systems, ensuring reliability and compliance.

The role reports to the Operations Manager and requires relevant licenses and experience. The position emphasizes safety, preventative maintenance, data analysis, and effective communication, with a union contract and with comprehensive

Qualifications

• Two years of plant operations and/or maintenance experience OR technical training in a related field.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Hold a valid Minnesota Second Class “A” or “B” Operating Engineer’s License, and be able to obtain a First Class “A” within two years of employment.
• Knowledge to operate heating/cooling equipment, steam turbines, pumps, and related equipment to meet customer demands.
• Ability to perform routine preventative and corrective maintenance on pumps, boilers, chillers, heat exchangers, valves and related equipment.
• Ability to interpret schematics, technical instructions, and manuals.
• Ability to collect and analyze data, troubleshoot equipment and trends, and draw conclusions.
• Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Operate heating, cooling, distribution, and related equipment safely and efficiently.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on plant equipment as directed.
• Inspect plant equipment, piping, and facilities for safety and compliance.
• Perform equipment isolations and lockouts to ensure safety and protection.
• Test system chemistry to ensure steam and water systems stay within prescribed ranges.
• Complete and maintain operating logs and maintenance documentation.
