Job summary

University Health KC invites applications for an Energy Center/HVAC Engineer A at UH Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. The full-time position (Mon-Fri, 3p-11p) offers hands-on operation and maintenance of boilers, chillers, air handlers, and associated systems within the physical plant.

You will monitor equipment, respond to emergencies, and document activities while upholding safety standards and corporate policies. 40 hours weekly with varied shifts, in a hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Operates and maintains mechanical systems in the physical plant, including boilers, chillers, pumps and associated equipment.
• Maintains and operates air handlers and refrigeration equipment.
• Utilizes building automation systems and control strategies to run equipment efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain boilers and burners, plus related fittings and surge tanks.
• Operate and maintain chillers, cooling towers, pumps and water treatment equipment.
• Operate and maintain air handlers, VAVs, fan coils, and related controls.
• Respond to emergency utility/service calls and evaluate issues.
• Repair and maintain refrigeration equipment such as walk-in coolers and ice machines.
• Document work performed, maintain inventory of consumables, and log equipment data.
