Job summary

Berkeley Lab is seeking a skilled professional to support energy efficiency discussions, oversee technical assistance processes, and promote sustainable practices with a focus on reducing energy use and costs in large buildings.

You will conduct rigorous analyses, manage data-driven projects, and help develop EMIS guidance and advanced building control strategies in collaboration with researchers and facilities staff.

Qualifications

• Experience in primary and secondary research analyzing energy/environmental equipment and commercial HVAC systems.
• Collection, analysis, and synthesis of structured and unstructured datasets including building energy and power consumption data.
• Presentation of data analysis results to a diverse audience.
• Knowledge of energy efficiency, electrification, grid integration and decarbonization of commercial buildings.
• Understanding of commercial building market stakeholder dynamics.
• Building HVAC advanced control strategies and data analytics concepts.

Responsibilities

• Support discussions with diverse stakeholders through web-meetings and in-person workshops.
• Oversee provision of technical assistance by TAMs, address issues, refine processes and reporting.
• Prepare, present, and promote technical analyses and sustainable practices to diverse audiences.
• Conduct primary and secondary research on energy efficiency tools and strategies and document results.
• Develop project ideas on building emissions reduction in alignment with DOE and Berkeley Lab priorities.
• Contribute to development of technical guidance related to EMIS and high-performance building control strategies.
• Organize and work with large amounts of data to perform analyses and develop charts.
