Job summary

Atelier Ten New York is seeking a Design Staff with a specialty in Energy Analysis to collaborate on projects achieving energy efficiency and carbon reduction. You will produce technical deliverables, run energy models, and lead decarbonization efforts for the built environment.

You will be an integral member of an interdisciplinary environmental design team in the NYC office, supporting climate-focused design with engineers, architects, and clients. This role is not remote.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in a field related to Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Building Science or Sustainable Building Design.
• 1-3 years of professional work experience in building energy analysis or high-performance HVAC design at the commercial building scale.
• Experience with specialized building energy simulation software (IES-VE and/or eQuest preferred, EnergyPlus and/or Grasshopper a plus).

Responsibilities

• Learn internal methodologies following energy analysis protocols (ASHRAE 90.1) for projects in various locations and climates.
• Develop shoe-box and whole-building energy models in IES-VE, EnergyPlus and/or eQUEST.
• Support senior staff to coordinate sustainability assessments, energy benchmarking, and life-cycle cost analysis.
• Collaborate with architects and design teams to recommend energy and carbon improvement strategies.
• Attend site visits and present analyses to stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain in-house databases and spreadsheet tools.
