Job summary

Atelier Ten US is seeking a Design Staff with a specialty in Energy Analysis to join the New York office. You will perform whole-building energy modeling, develop strategies for HVAC and building systems, and collaborate across disciplines to drive energy efficiency and carbon reduction across projects.

The role is based in New York City (not remote) with a hybrid work option, contributing to our energy analysis practice and decarbonization initiatives for a diverse portfolio of buildings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in a field related to Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Building Science or Sustainable Building Design.
• 2–5 years of professional work experience in building energy analysis or high‑performance HVAC design for commercial buildings.
• Experience in specialized energy simulation software (IES-VE and/or eQuest preferred; EnergyPlus and/or Grasshopper is a plus).
• Ability to articulate engineering problems related to HVAC, envelope performance, passive conditioning, energy use and carbon emissions.
• Experience with ASHRAE Standards 55, 62.1, 90.1 and 189; LEED/WELL/Living Building Challenge familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Produce energy models and deliverables for a range of project types.
• Develop building energy strategies and contribute to decarbonization goals.
• Collaborate with architects and design teams to improve energy and carbon performance.
• Lead energy analyses, benchmarking, and cost analysis activities.
• Present analyses to stakeholders and integrate feedback into design decisions.
