Job summary

Potbelly in Carmel, IN is seeking a friendly Team Member to join our fast-paced kitchen and dining area. This part-time role offers flexible shifts (First, Second, Third) and pay transparency with a starting wage between $15.25 and $15.75 per hour plus tips.

You’ll deliver fast, friendly service and quality meals in a clean, inviting environment. Responsibilities include food prep, taking orders, operating the register, restocking, and helping teammates during busy periods.

Qualifications

• You must be at least 16 years old.
• Friendly, customer-first mindset for fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable working in a bustling kitchen.
• Able to manage allergens (peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood, shellfish).
• Team-oriented approach.
• Able to stand/walk minimum 3 hours; lift up to 50 pounds.
• IL applicants must become food safety certified within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Work multiple stations as directed by a Shift Leader or Manager.
• Comply with health and safety standards for food, cleanliness and safety.
• Restock food line, chips and cooler.
• Prepare quality finished products efficiently.
• If 18 or older, use the slicer to prep items.
• Clean tables, counters, floors, bathrooms, kitchen and utensils; take out trash.
• Operate cash register and follow cash handling procedures.
• Handle customer complaints/issues.
• Take delivery/catering/pickup orders over the phone.
• Other duties as assigned.
