Cedar Rapids Community School District is seeking a Permanent Building Substitute Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year at Kenwood Elementary in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The role is full-time (40 hours/week) with a $25.00 per hour pay rate and leads to opportunities for collaboration with building staff.

The ideal candidate brings energy, reliability, and prior teaching or classroom experience, and will follow lesson plans while adapting to various grade levels.

Formación

• Must be an approved substitute teacher registered through the SubCentral assignment system.
• Must hold a valid substitute authorization or teaching license through the State of Iowa to register with SubCentral.

Responsabilidades

• Deliver instruction and maintain classroom routines in accordance with teacher-provided lesson plans.
• Manage classroom behavior and create a respectful and safe learning environment.
• Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, playgrounds, and during school-related events.
• Follow all school and district policies, including safety and emergency procedures.
• Collaborate with staff to support student learning and building-wide initiatives.
• Fill in for various grade levels and content areas with minimal advance notice.
