Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a driven operator to safely run heavy equipment at the Clayton, NC Machine Development Center. You will support machine and software validation, document daily activity, and feed observations back to engineering.

This role is vital to ensure accurate endurance testing across multiple platforms. Responsibilities include daily usage recording, safety reporting, basic inspections, and assisting with minor repairs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience operating construction equipment or heavy machinery.
• Basic understanding of construction machinery and mechanical systems
• Strong commitment to workplace safety
• Ability to work independently
• Effective verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Safely operate construction equipment in support of endurance and validation testing activities.
• Record daily machine usage, operating conditions, and performance concerns.
• Promptly communicate safety, quality, or performance issues to the Team Leader.
• Perform routine machine inspections and basic preventive maintenance activities.
• Wash, inspect, and maintain assigned equipment.
• Identify and report mechanical, structural, hydraulic, or electrical concerns.
• Complete minor service and repair tasks as assigned.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Support testing activities across multiple machine platforms and applications.
