Job summary
Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Control Systems Engineer in Clayton, NC to develop, validate, and optimize electro-mechanical systems for Backhoe Loaders. You will join the Integration Team to shape electronic controls, displays, and overall system behavior for new products and existing improvements.
The role emphasizes hardware-software integration, prototyping, and rigorous testing. A bachelor’s degree in engineering or related fields is required, with strong analytical and teamwork skills
Qualifications
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.
- Experience with electro-mechanical systems and mechatronics is preferred.
- Strong analytical and communication skills for cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Design advanced electrical control systems and integrate electrical and mechanical systems.
- Design and implement software to control electro-mechanical systems and devices.
- Prototype mechatronic devices with motors, solenoids, gears, sensors, and springs.
- Identify and address weaknesses in finished products.
- Validate software controls, display functions, and features on Backhoe Loaders.
- Operate and gain proficiency with various BHL models and configurations.
- Troubleshoot, determine root causes, and provide solutions for electrical, software, and mechanical issues.
