Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Clayton, NC is hiring a machine operator to safely run heavy equipment for machine and software validation at the CMDC. You will document daily activity, report issues, and assist engineering with observations.

Shift is 2nd, Mon-Thu 6:00 PM - 4:30 AM; starting pay rate is $23.44/hour with 8% shift differential, based at Clayton, NC. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and more.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience operating construction equipment or heavy machinery.
• Basic understanding of construction machinery and mechanical systems.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety.
• Ability to work independently.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate construction equipment in support of endurance and validation testing activities.
• Record daily machine usage, operating conditions, and performance concerns.
• Promptly communicate safety, quality, or performance issues to the Team Leader.
• Perform routine machine inspections and basic preventive maintenance activities.
• Wash, inspect, and maintain assigned equipment.
• Identify and report mechanical, structural, hydraulic, or electrical concerns.
• Complete minor service and repair tasks as assigned.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Support testing activities across multiple machine platforms and applications.
