Job summary

Caterpillar's Clayton Machine Development Center in Clayton, NC seeks a heavy equipment operator to support endurance and validation testing. You will safely operate Backhoe Loaders, Mini Hydraulic Excavators, and other machines, record usage, and communicate issues to engineering.

The role requires at least 1 year of operating experience, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to work independently. Shift is 2nd, hours 6:00 PM to 4:30 AM, with a starting pay of $21.07/hour and a comprehensive

• Minimum of 1 year of experience operating construction equipment or heavy machinery.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety.
• Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate construction equipment in support of endurance and validation testing activities.
• Record daily machine usage, operating conditions, and performance concerns.
• Promptly communicate safety, quality, or performance issues to the Team Leader.
• Perform routine machine inspections and basic preventive maintenance activities.
• Wash, inspect, and maintain assigned equipment.
• Identify and report mechanical, structural, hydraulic, or electrical concerns.
• Complete minor service and repair tasks as assigned.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Support testing activities across multiple machine platforms and applications.
