Job summary

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent IT experience.
  • Experience managing Windows endpoints and Microsoft 365 workloads.
  • Experience with Intune, Entra ID, and Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
  • Minimum 3 years in IT operations or endpoint management.
  • Knowledge of endpoint security, encryption, antivirus and firewall practices.
  • Experience with print management not required.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic macOS support knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Windows endpoints including compliance, configuration profiles, security baselines, and deployment.
  • Develop and implement configuration policies for end-user devices with system updates and patches.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with remote or on-site support.
  • Provide tier 3 support to technicians and the helpdesk.
  • Monitor endpoint performance and usage and identify trends for improvement.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to integrate devices with local and cloud systems.
  • Assist with server-related tasks (physical and virtual).
  • Partner with security, networking, and helpdesk teams to standardize solutions.
  • Develop relationships with stakeholders across CIT and the College.

Job Summary

The Center for Information Technology ( CIT ) at Oberlin College invites applications for the position of Endpoint Specialist. This is a full-time, 12-month recurring Administrative and Professional (A&PS) staff position, reporting to the Director of IT Support.
The Endpoint Specialist will be responsible for managing and maintaining all Windows end-user devices at Oberlin College, including laptops, desktops, and mobile devices. The Endpoint Specialist will collaborate with other IT teams to ensure end-user devices are properly maintained, configured, and secure. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing many endpoints while possessing strong technical and customer service skills.

Responsibilities
  • Windows endpoint management including device compliance, configuration profiles, security baselines, and application packaging and deployment.
  • Develop and implement configuration policies to ensure all end-user devices are properly configured, secured and maintained with system updates, security patches, and OS upgrades.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to end-user devices with remote or on-site support as needed.
  • Provide tier 3 support to technicians and the helpdesk team on complex incidents.
  • Monitor and report on endpoint performance and usage, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Work closely with Director of IT Support to ensure that end-user devices are properly integrated with local and cloud IT systems and services.
  • Assist with physical and virtual server-related tasks.
  • Partner with security, networking, and helpdesk teams to standardize solutions and publish knowledge.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across CIT and the College.

Required Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong technical skills in Windows endpoint management & administration including Microsoft 365 workloads.
  • Proficient experience with management tools such as Intune, Entra ID, and 365 Admin Center.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT operations or support and managing many endpoints.
  • Strong understanding of endpoint security best practices, device encryption, antivirus, firewall configuration.
  • Experience with print management systems such as Papercut.
  • Experience in patch management and vulnerability management.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders and team members.
  • Basic fluency with macOS support.
Desired Qualifications
  • Microsoft Certifications, CompTIA Network+, A+, Security+, PowerShell Automation, Single Sign-On solutions, Windows Server infrastructure.
  • Higher Education IT experience and similar preferred.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
