Job summary

The Barry S. Miller College of Business at the University of Central Florida invites applications for the Miller Technology Endowed Chair in Intelligent Work Systems, a 9-month tenured position at the rank of professor on the UCF Main Campus with a Fall 2027 start.

The chair will advance understanding of how humans and intelligent technologies are designed to shape organizational performance, bolster interdisciplinary work, and contribute to STLI's initiatives across technology and leadership.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in business, economics, information systems, engineering, computer science, psychology, or a closely related field from an AACSB-accredited (or equivalent) institution at time of application.
• Record of scholarly achievement sufficient to qualify for appointment with tenure at the rank of Full Professor.
• Demonstrated impact in research related to organizational design, leadership, decision-making, or technology-enabled work systems.
• Active and sustained research agenda with publications in leading peer-reviewed journals.
• Experience teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.

Responsibilities

• Serve as an intellectual architect for the college’s Intelligent Work Systems initiative by building collaborations among faculty, industry, and government that establish UCF as a national leader in the field.
• Translate scholarly expertise into organizational practice through industry partnerships, executive education, public engagement, policy influence, or other mechanisms that create measurable impact.
• Conduct high-impact research on how organizations design and manage the interaction between people, technology, and decision systems.
• Contribute to the development of new academic programs and executive offerings aligned with the College’s technology focus.
