Job summary

Barrow Brain and Spine in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Medical Assistant to join a world-class team supporting physicians and patients in a busy specialty practice.

You will perform front-desk duties, schedule appointments, verify demographics and insurance, and assist clinical staff with daily operations.

The role requires completion of a CAAHEP-accredited Medical Assisting program and at least two years in a clinical setting; a patient-centered, professional approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a formal, CAAHEP-accredited Medical Assisting program.
• Two years of experience in a medical clinic is preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational abilities are essential.

Responsibilities

• Registers new patients and collects accurate demographics and insurance information.
• Ensures physicians have pertinent notes, labs, and reports before patient arrival.
• Answers calls, triages inquiries, and schedules appointments in the EMR.
• Coordinates calendars and assists with clinical and front-desk tasks.
• Obtains authorizations from insurance carriers and processes scheduling.
