Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Inc. (BIDMC) Lexington Endoscopy is opening in June 2027 and is seeking a Unit Based Educator to support training and organization of new staff prior to the clinic opening.

The UBE will coordinate new employee training with the Endoscopy team, establish competencies and workflows for the location, and assist with setup for the opening. This is a full-time, 40-hour per week role, focusing on professional nursing practice and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program required.
• RN license is required.
• BSN degree preferred.
• 1-3 years of related work experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct nursing care to patients and families.
• Assesses health care needs and develops, implements and evaluates a care plan.
• Demonstrates clinical judgment integrating theory and practice.
• Coordinates patient care and directs staff to ensure safe, efficient, patient-centered care.
• Maintains awareness of environmental factors affecting patient care.
• Identifies resources needed to implement the plan of care.
• Collaborates with health professionals to determine patient needs.
• Builds trust and communicates effectively with patients and families.
• Maintains annual mandatory education including emergency skills and unit competencies.
• Participates in professional development and quality improvement activities.
