Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Plymouth seeks a Surgical and Procedural Services Educator to lead staff education, assess competency, and support clinical management of patients across OR, PACU, Pre-op, PAT, Central Sterile, Endoscopy, and Interventional Radiology nursing.

You will develop procedures and policies, partner with nursing management on performance improvement, and design orientation and in-service programs while modeling the hospital's core values.

Qualifications

• 5 years experience in clinical specialty area.
• Minimum 2 years charge experience.
• Demonstrates sound judgment and critical thinking during emergencies.
• Successful preceptor and mentor experience.
• Willingness to work flexible hours to meet department education needs.
• AORN Perioperative 101 Course Instructor - preferred.
• Excellent computer skills (Email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Education: Massachusetts RN license, BSN, and MSN prep.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates clinical expertise across specialty areas.
• Leads staff education programs and enhances staff competency.
• Participates in staff hires/transfers based on qualifications to meet patient needs.
• Collects and assesses monthly quality data for performance improvement initiatives.
• Plans, presents, and evaluates orientation, in-service and continuing education programs.
• Collaborates with Staff Education Department on policies, procedures, and new initiatives.
