Job summary

Baptist Medical Center South in Jacksonville, FL is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist for the Endoscopy unit. This full-time day position supports procedures, maintains sterile environments, and assists surgeons by handing instruments as needed.

A call requirement applies, with a competitive differential. The successful candidate will have less than 1 year of surgical technologist or endoscopy experience, a High School diploma, and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, organize and maintain a sterile field for operative procedures.
• Anticipate surgeon needs and case progression; prepare accordingly.
• Properly dispose of specimens and instruments; support patient safety.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to minimize anesthesia time.

This is a Full-time Days position, 40 hours per week Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 5:30pm with one set day off. This position requires call and qualifies for competitive call differentials.As a surgical technologist in this role, you will work as part of the surgical services teams in the Endoscopy unit. The individual will assist the team during procedures, ensure a sterile environment, hand instruments to surgeons during procedures, and maintain patient safety.
