Qualifications

• Six months of previous medical experience in a hospital or outpatient surgery center.
• BLS certified.
• Communicates effectively with patients, family, staff and physicians.
• Must present professionally with good people skills.
• Works well with others.
• Experience in procedural or surgical settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation of the procedure room before patient entry.
• Support physician, RN and anesthetist during intra-op procedures and post-procedure cleaning.
• Assist with obtaining, labeling, transporting, and verifying specimens.
• Transport used scopes to the processing room.
• Clean rooms between cases using aseptic technique.
• Cross-train as a scope washer.
• Transport patients as needed.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Nurse Manager, Charge RN, physician, or administrator.
• Be open to cross training and working at other locations, including overtime.
