Job summary

Capital Health is seeking a GI Endoscopy Technician to support the Endoscopy Unit across Hopewell and Hamilton locations. You will assist the Endoscopist and RN, prepare the room, and help with instruments and patient safety in all general endoscopy cases.

The role requires a high school diploma, at least six months in an Endoscopy unit, and AHA BLS. On-call weeknights, weekends, and holidays are included. This is a full-time, 40-hour week position with competitive pay.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Six months experience working in an Endoscopy unit.
• Credentials: AHA BLS. Non-Licensed must obtain before end of orientation period
• Knowledge and Skills: Ability to deal with multiple tasks in a rapidly changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Assists physician and RN with endoscopic procedures as directed by the interventional endoscopist or circulating RN, where appropriate.
• Anticipates the need of Endoscopist, using knowledge of endoscopic procedures, which includes passing instruments and other items appropriate to the procedure.
• Establishes and maintains an organized field. Ensures procedure room is kept neat and clean throughout patient procedure.
• Maintains log books for decontamination solutions, scope tracking and scope usage. Demonstrates appropriate set up of equipment.
