Job summary

Capital Health is seeking a GI Endoscopy Technician to support endoscopy procedures in our facilities at Hopewell and Hamilton. This role requires assisting the Endoscopist, preparing the procedure room, and ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the endoscopy suite.

Hours are 7a–5:30p with on-call weeknights, weekends, and holidays. Requires a High School diploma, six months endoscopy experience, and AHA BLS certification or ability to obtain before orientation ends.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Six months experience in an Endoscopy unit.
• AHA BLS required; non-licensed must obtain before end of orientation period.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician and RN during endoscopic procedures as directed.
• Anticipate needs of Endoscopist and pass instruments as required.
• Maintain organized procedure room and ensure cleanliness throughout the case.
• Maintain logs for decontamination solutions and scope usage.
• Transport patients and specimens safely per Capital Health guidelines.
• Adhere to sterile techniques and report any unsafe practices.
