Atlantic Health is seeking an Endoscopy Technician to support physicians and nurses during procedures, maintain sterile fields, and ensure high-level disinfection of scopes and equipment in Morristown, NJ.

The role includes on-call weekend/weekday coverage, on-call requirements, and routine maintenance of procedure rooms and supplies. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, 2+ years of ENDO/sterile processing experience, and current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma Required or GED. Ability to read, write and speak English.
• 2+ years as an ENDO technician and or central sterile reprocessing preferred
• Current BLS
• Basic Knowledge of Medical Terminology
• On call Weekend and Weekday rotating coverage.
• Endoscopy technicians' hours are from 7am - 5pm, with the exception of the washroom days.
• There is an on-call requirement of 3 shifts per month. They are self-schedule, so team members have the freedom to pick their days.
• On call during the week start at 6pm until 6am. During the weekend would be either a Saturday or Sunday from 6am until 6am the next morning.
• On call personnel are required to report to the department within one hour.

Responsibilities

• Assists physicians and nurses during procedures; maintains sterile field and adheres to surgical standards.
• Cleans and provides high level disinfection of equipment, scopes, and accessories; operates endoscope washers.
• Verifies patient name and procedure type; observes universal protocol; prepares patient for exam.
• Prepares procedure rooms; maintains oxygen, suction and related hardware; restocks rooms daily.
• Tests and troubleshoots all equipment; works with scopes, processors, monitors, snares, biopsy forceps and cautery.
• Provides organization of time according to patient flow and unit needs; participates in staff meetings.
• Pursues personal and professional growth; maintains BCLS credentials and safety standards.
• Demonstrates safety and proper handling of specimens; reports hazardous situations.
