Job summary

Harris Health is seeking a Gastroenterology Technician II to support the GI Lab operations. The role prepares supplies, equipment and rooms for procedures, handles specimens and disinfects scopes according to standards, and assists nursing and medical staff as needed.

The GT II must have a high school diploma or equivalent, 1 year of gastroenterology or endoscopy experience, and a valid Basic Life Support certification. Weekend, holiday, and on-call shifts are typical.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and 1 year work experience in gastroenterology or endoscopy program.
• Endoscopy certificate or SGNA program preferred.
• BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross approved program is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare supplies, equipment and room for GI procedures.
• Handle specimens and clean/disinfect scopes and equipment per standards.
• Troubleshoot equipment as needed and support nursing/medical staff.
• Demonstrate professionalism and effective communication in the GI Lab.
