Job summary

VillageMD in New Jersey is seeking an Endoscopy Technician to assist in decontamination and distribution of flexible endoscopy equipment for patient care, supporting GI staff in all related areas.

The role includes maintaining equipment, performing safety checks, managing inventories and prepping rooms for procedures. A high school diploma is required, with 0–1 year experience and CER certification within 1 year. English communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 0-1 years clinical or healthcare experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• CER certification in Flexible Endoscope Reprocessing or obtain within 1 year.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
• Strong multitasking, organizing and priority-setting skills.
• Experience with hand tools and material handling equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean, disinfect, endoscopic scopes and equipment according to manufacturer recommendations and facility standards.
• Maintain endoscopic equipment and notify if repairs are needed.
• Perform safety checks to verify proper equipment functioning.
• Maintain inventories of endoscopic equipment and supplies.
• Ensure safe storage of endoscopic scopes and related equipment.
• Notify lead technician of deficits in endoscopy stock.
• Conduct weekly maintenance of endoscopy washers and cabinets.
• Maintain audit trails for each endoscopic procedure.
