Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Medical Support Technician for the H.H. Chao Family Comprehensive Digestive Disease Center.

You will perform basic medical and administrative tasks, assist with endoscopic procedures, administer medications, and help with phlebotomy and patient flow during clinic hours. Responsibilities include data collection, front-office support, and maintaining organized records while ensuring a clean, compliant environment.

Qualifications

• Understanding of medical terminology is essential.
• Completion of a relevant medical training program (MA/EMT/Surg Tech/GI, etc.) is required.
• Current BLS certification and ability to adapt to changes in a busy clinic.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic medical, technical and administrative support for the Digestive Disease Center.
• Process routine endoscopes and non-disposable endoscopic equipment, provide standby assistance.
• Administer oral and injected medications and assist with procedures.
• Assist with specimen collection, phlebotomy, and record patient data.
• Inform patients and support patient flow during clinic hours.
• Assist front office operations and maintain records and reports.
• Keep the clinic clean and organized to meet health survey standards.
