Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Medical Assistant/Endoscopy Technician to support GI/endoscopy services, process endoscopic equipment, and assist with front office tasks. This role contributes to efficient patient care in a dynamic hospital setting.

Ideal candidates have a Medical Assistant credential, at least 3 years in GI/endoscopy, strong customer service and communication skills, and current BLS certification. On-site work in California with a focus on patient safety and quality care.

Qualifications

• Understanding of medical terminology.
• Medical Assistant Diploma or Certificate of Competency / Recognition in Medical Assisting Clinical / Back Office or minimum 3 years experience working as a GI/Endoscopy Technician in a hospital setting.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Current BLS certification.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Process routine endoscopes and non-disposable endoscopic equipment.
• Provide standby technical assistance for routine endoscopic procedures.
• Assist front office operations by answering incoming phone calls, maintaining records, preparing reports and updating patient files.
