Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking an Endoscopy Technician to support endoscopic procedures. You will prepare rooms, assist with patient transfer, and help manage equipment and specimens under physicians and nurses. A focus on patient safety and teamwork is essential in this role.

Qualified candidates will have 3–12 months of experience, familiarity with endoscopy procedures, and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• Three to twelve months’ experience in a clinical setting.
• Knowledge of patient care, endoscopy procedures and basic GI anatomy.
• Must be flexible with scheduling needs.
• Must be able to work independently and in teams.
• Ability to exercise good judgment, discretion and communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Responsibilities

• Prepares procedure rooms for endoscopic procedures and assists with patient transfer.
• Assembles equipment and ensures proper working order of computer and equipment.
• Assists during endoscopic procedures and handling of specimens and supplies.
• Assists physicians with hemostatic instruments and related devices.
• Maintains and disinfects endoscopes and accessories and manages high-level disinfection supplies.
