Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of two years experience in endoscopy preferred.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficient technical (computer) skills.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
• Self-motivated with initiative.
• Strong sense of ethics.

Responsibilities

• Delivers safe patient care as directed by the Registered Nurse and according to surgery center policy and procedure.
• Efficiently and effectively assists physician with procedures.
• Anticipates physician's needs both in preparing for procedure and during procedure.
• Initiates and implements basic CPR as appropriate.
• Demonstrates knowledge of emergency responsibilities.
• Orients patient and family to the care environment and routines.
• Implements the teaching plan as directed by the Registered Nurse.
• Demonstrates competence in aseptic techniques and instrument processing.
• Maintains inventory and handles central supply and rental equipment.
• Performs cleaning and disinfection of instruments and equipment.
• Adheres to safety and bloodborne pathogen standards.
• Performs hand hygiene and uses PPE as required.
