Job summary

Southcoast Health is seeking an Endoscopy Technician to join the team at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford, MA. The role involves assisting physicians with endoscopic procedures in an acute care setting, under the supervision of the Patient Care Services Manager.

Hours are 32 hours flexing to 40 per week with day shift and on-call rotation including weeknights, weekends, and holidays. Benefits and opportunities for professional growth are highlighted in the posting.

Qualifications

• Equal to completion of four years of high school plus additional specialized training.
• Operating Room experience preferred; Basic Medical Terminology required.
• Understand sterile technique and sterilization processes; fiber optics knowledge.
• Three to five years experience recommended.
• Current CPR Certification required.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal influenza and COVID-19 or approved exemption.

Hours: 32 flex 40hrs

Shift:Day shift with On Call rotation (weeknights, weekends and holiday); Variable hours

Under general supervision of the Manager, Patient Care Services or Designee, perform a variety of duties including providing technical services or support. Assist physicians with a variety of endoscopic procedures, including demonstrating clinical skills in an acute patient care environment.

• Equal to completion of four years of high school plus additional specialized training.
• Previous Operating Room experience is preferred. Basic Medical Terminology is required.
• Must be able to understand and be knowledgeable of the principles of sterile technique, sterilization process, etc. Knowledge of fiber optics required.
• Three years and up to five years experience required.
• Current CPR Certification is required.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.
• Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.
