Job summary

Southcoast Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our in-house travel Endoscopy team at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, MA. This 11-13 week assignment offers 40 hours per week, day shifts, and rotating call coverage.

You may be asked to float to other Southcoast Hospitals (New Bedford, Wareham) during assignments. All qualified applicants will be considered; Southcoast Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Massachusetts required.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum of one year Endoscopy nursing experience.
• Must be fully vaccinated against influenza and COVID-19 or exempt with signed statement.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate total nursing care for patients under unit supervision.
• Teach patients and families; provide leadership with the care team.
• Be capable of floating to similar units as needed within the Southcoast system.

• 11-13 Week Assignment, with option to extend for 1 additional 13 week assignment if available

Position Details

• Hours: 40hrs
• Shifts: Day shift, variable start and end times. Weeknight, Weekend and Holiday Call Rotation.
• Area Assignment: Endoscopy - Charlton Memorial Hospital, Fall River MA

*During assignment, may be asked to float to any Southcoast Hospital: Charlton Memorial-Fall River, St. Luke's-New Bedford and Tobey-Wareham

Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Manager, Patient Services, or designee of the individual assigned unit, perform a variety of duties involving coordinating total nursing care for patients, participating in patient and family teaching, and providing leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice within an assigned patient care unit. Have knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age group of patients regularly served.

Qualifications

• Current Southcoast Health System employees are not eligible for consideration. Former employees must be separated from Southcoast for at least 9 months to be eligible.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or equivalent is required.
• Current RN Licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required.
• Minimum of one year of Endoscopy nursing experience required.
• Competent in reading and interpreting basic telemetry strips.
• Ability to efficiently float to other like-units for patient assignments is required.
• Working knowledge and experience with PC-based applications.
• Epic experience is preferred.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID-19 virus or be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.
