Job summary

Southcoast Health is seeking an experienced Endoscopy nurse for an in-house travel team at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, MA. The assignment lasts 11–13 weeks with a possibility of extension, offering 40 hours per week and day shift with rotation for nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities include coordinating total nursing care, patient/family education, and flexibility to float to other Southcoast facilities as needed. Massachusetts RN licensure and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing is required.
• Current RN Licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is required.
• BLS certification is also required.
• Minimum of one year of Endoscopy nursing experience required.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal influenza and COVID-19 or be exempt with a signed statement.

Responsibilities

• Lead patient and family teaching and collaborate with care teams.

Position Assignment Details:

• Hours: 40hrs
• Shifts: Day shift, variable start and end times. Weeknight, Weekend and Holiday Call Rotation.
• Area Assignment: Endoscopy - Charlton Memorial Hospital, Fall River MA

*During assignment, maybe asked to float to any Southcoast Hospital: Charlton Memorial-Fall River, St. Luke's-New Bedford and Tobey--Wareham

Under direction of the Manager, Patient Services, or designee of individual assigned unit, perform a variety of duties involving coordinating total nursing care for patients, participating in patient and family teaching, and providing leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice within an assigned patient care unit. Has knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, which is appropriate to the age group of patients regularly served.

• Current Southcoast Health System employees are not eligible for consideration. Former employees must be separated from Southcoast for at least 9 months to be eligible.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or equivalent is required.
• Current RN Licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required.
• Minimum of one year of Endoscopy nursing experience required.
• Competent in reading and interpreting basic telemetry strips.
• Ability to efficiently float to other like-units for patient assignments is required.
• Working knowledge and experience with PC-based applications.
• Epic experience is preferred.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.
