Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking an Endoscopy Support Technician to assist GI procedures and maintain instrument readiness. You will help with patient monitoring, specimen handling, labeling medications, and ensuring sterile technique throughout the operation.

Responsibilities include room turnover, transport of equipment, decontamination, and logging endoscopes after use. CPR certification within 90 days is required, with an associated AHA/Red Cross credential.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in an endoscopy environment.
• CPR certification with BLS/NRP within 90 days.
• High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports and assists the Gastroenterology Specialist with endoscopy procedures.
• Anticipates needs by having instrumentation and supplies ready before use.
• Inspects and prepares equipment and supplies prior to scheduled cases.
• Assists in patient monitoring during procedures.
• Assists with specimen handling and labeling of medications.
• Participates in universal time-out during procedures.
• Maintains room turnover and clean up with minimal supervision.
• Assists with transport and positioning of patients as directed.
• Logs and returns endoscopes to decontamination after use.
