Job summary

Wellstar Health Systems is seeking an Endoscopy Technician II to support GI procedures, assist nurses and physicians, and ensure safe, efficient operation of the GI lab. This role emphasizes infection control, equipment maintenance, and preceptorship for new staff.

The position requires on-site work in Georgia with responsibilities spanning room prep, instrument handling, and collaboration across the health care team to deliver high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• SGNA GI Tech Specialist certification required.
• BLS certification required (or ARC-BLS).
• Pass SGNA Associates and SGNA advanced course exams.

Responsibilities

• Proficiency of all endoscope procedures, equipment, and supplies including complex procedures (ERCP, EUS, stent placements).
• Prepare for scheduled, emergent and add-on endoscopic procedures with ready equipment and supplies.
• Operate GI lab equipment and provide technical assistance during procedures as directed by the physician.
• Take emergency call after hours and weekends as needed.
• Serve as preceptor to new employees and mentor less experienced staff.
