Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking an Endoscopy Technician II to support GI procedures and assist nurses and physicians in delivering high-quality patient care. The role emphasizes infection control, preparation of the procedure room, and equipment handling.

Responsibilities include assisting in ERCP/EUS and stent placements, maintaining scope reprocessing, and serving as a resource for less experienced staff. A minimum of 1 year GI endoscopy experience and SGNA/BLS certifications are required.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• SGNA GI Tech Specialist certification recommended/required.
• Minimum 1 year of Endoscopy experience; on-the-job training with documented competencies.

Responsibilities

• Proficient in endoscope procedures, equipment, and supplies including ERCP, EUS, and stent placements.
• Prepare for scheduled and emergent procedures; ensure equipment and supplies are ready.
• Assist physicians and nurses; maintain sterile field and patient safety.
• Operate GI equipment and troubleshoot as directed.
• Participate in on-call coverage and staff training.
